SolarVenti for Cellars

Heats and dehumidifies cellars, significantly improving air quality.

Those who purchase a SolarVenti® solar air collector for their cellar generally do so because the internal climate of the cellar is more or less humid and closed.

The closed air in the cellar is more humid the higher the moisture content in the building structure walls.

When the SolarVenti® solar air collector is installed, the indoor air quality of the basement will be significantly improved within a few months and the owner will begin to feel the cellar air much fresher and less humid to breathe.

With the appropriate SolarVenti® collector for the area and after a few months of operation, the humidity level in the cellar structure will drop significantly, leaving breathable and healthy air in the cellar.

Ventilation Flow

When the sun shines on the solar air collector panel, for example on a sunny wall on the side of the cellar, the air quickly becomes very warm inside the panel.

At the same time, the fan powered by photovoltaic solar panels begins to blow warm, dry ventilation air into the cellar.

The air — which is blown into the house — pushes the humid and “old” air out through leaks or ventilation grilles.

It is the location of the ventilation outlet openings that determine how the ventilation air moves through the basement.

For the SolarVenti® collector to have effect in more rooms in the cellar, doors should remain open, or ventilation grilles should be placed between rooms.
